Photogrammetry: High-Precision 3D Mapping & Aerial Data Capture
Photogrammetry is a powerful technique that transforms aerial images into accurate 3D models and maps. Using drone technology, we capture high-resolution imagery to create detailed topographic surveys, volumetric calculations, and geospatial data
Photogrammetry is Overlapping Pictures
Multiple images are taken to produce ortho-mosaic maps, 3D Models or topographic surveys. The drone images sequenced above show the drone surveying to monitor the erosion of a cliff.
The drone takes overlapping images until the object has been photographed from all angles or the survey area has been covered.
The height of the drone above the survey area or distance from the object being modelled together with the resolution of the drone camera sensor all play a part in the amount of data that is recorded per pixel and what is availiable in the final model or map.
Just having a collection of images does not give you a map or model. The images are processed to stitch them all together
